Volunteering & Medical Tours

Bring your expertise. We will handle everything else.

Every year Mount Eagle hosts medical professionals and volunteers who come to Tanzania and Zanzibar to work alongside local teams. Our Dar es Salaam office handles what usually makes these trips difficult.

Two ways in

Volunteers and credentialed clinicians need different answers, so the paths separate here.

Volunteer programmes

Placements in education, community development and health outreach, with in-country coordination throughout.

Medical clinics & tours

Short-term clinics staffed by visiting specialists, in partnership with Tanzanian health providers.

What we provide

In-country coordination

Handled by our Dar es Salaam team.

Accommodation & transport

Airport transfers and local transport arranged.

Local partnerships

Introductions to the organisations you will work with.

Orientation on arrival

Context, expectations and practicalities.

A named contact

One person, throughout, who answers the phone.

Permits & scheduling

Paperwork and clinic scheduling handled locally.

Upcoming dates

No. Our in-country team handles translation and local coordination throughout, and English is widely spoken in the settings you will be working in.

Requirements change, so we confirm the current list with you at application. Plan for six to eight weeks before travel.

Get in touch before applying. Whether we can place a student or trainee depends on the clinic and the supervision available at the time.

As early as you can. Placements are coordinated around clinic schedules and travel arrangements, so more notice gives us more to work with.

Register your interest

Tell us about your background and what you are hoping to do. Our Dar es Salaam coordinator will come back to you with available programmes and dates.
